Take a look at the wonderful plant cell diagrams the students in grade six have created. Working in pairs or groups of three, they matched up the organelle names, pictures, and functions. Today we will continue to use the microscopes in class to examine items the students are bringing from home. I can't wait to see what they have chosen to investigate!
Next week, on Wednesday, October 22nd there will be brief a science quiz on Chapter 1 of the textbook.
The students need to know the following:
1) The six criteria that help scientists define living things
2) The functions of the eight organelles we have learned about in class and which cells have each kind
3) How to use a microscope and the names of its parts
